time, cooking & mindfulness

After the Savor & Share recipe contest, I wrote an article about time & cooking.  I had been ruminating about time all throughout the contest, especially regarding the subjective experience of time and how it seems that the more one runs away from time, the more time seems to constrict.   There must be a flip side to this cycle, I thought.   And so I tried applying to cooking the same mindfulness tactics I apply to eating.  This is how I realized how much it matters for your body to be present all the time, and this is how I learned a few valuable things about time.

I sent the article I wrote to my contact with Savor: Mindful Eating, Mindful Life’s facebook page, and she passed it along to the authors of the book (!) who decided to publish it on the website for their book.   What an honor!  I welcome you to come read it here:  Making Time. Yay 🙂
